Love in a relationship is not the answer to everything, but a field to give, grow and make ourselves more human. There is now a set of emotional demands that did not exist before since both men and women did not previously question the established roles, now, instead, the idea that the couple should be an integral whole has been installed. This means responding both to emotional, sexual, physical, social, work, and even philosophical expectations. A fact that can overwhelm anyone.

That is why the most common conflicts in today’s couples are related to limits. There is confusion around aspects such as the border between intimacy and independence, or between freedom and commitment, among others. Furthermore, most of them reach adulthood without having dealt with their attachment problems, which leads us to depend too much on the other,

There is also a demand for fulfillment and happiness that, of course, nobody satisfies, since that is never in the other but in you, they do not realize that the problem is in the demand itself and not in the partner. Trust is not cultivated and there are also many limits to engaging in honest and authentic dialogue. Intimacy fails.

Or one is the one who protects and the other one who allows himself to be protected, making one of the two “smaller” with the problems that this entails, or the family of both takes too much importance and there is no real differentiation of the family of origin, this constitutes one of the most common couple conflicts in the world… etc.

That is why each of us has to work on those gaps that we intend to fill with the other to balance emotions, expectations, commitments and resignations, enjoy harmonious relationships and where what prevails is LOVE for the other.
